e.l.f. Matte Lip Color Swatches & Review

I'm not sure what it is about a matte lip that I find so appealing, but this is a trend that I sense will be around for a long time to come. e.l.f. recently came out with this range of six lovely shades with a perfectly matte finish - and of course I picked them all up. At only $3 a piece, owning the full collection is beyond achievable.

Left to Right: Coral, Natural, Tea Rose, Praline, Nearly Nude, and Rich Red.

I love the packaging. The matte black is sleek and simple. My only complaint is that the caps are sometimes a struggle to get to close completely. The colors on the ends are pretty close to the real colors, although they differ quite a bit from the swatches on eyeslipsface.com. I've included my own swatches below!

The colors are highly pigmented and have a wear time of... forever? Seriously, this is the one lip product I will dare wear out to dinner as it lasts through pretty much anything. P1020603

My favorite color lately is Tea Rose. Praline is a close second for me, but unfortunately Coral, Natural, and Nearly Nude are all too light for me. Keep that in mind as you choose your colors. Today I used Hard Candy's Automatic Lip Liner in Natural to line my lips. I'm wearing Tea Rose matte today, but this color also looks great under a gloss.

For my face I am going super minimalist - e.l.f.'s BB Cream in Medium, Benefit's They're Real! Mascara, and just a dab of Almay's Line Smoothing Concealer under the eyes.

Have you tried any of the Matte Lip Colors? If so, which one is your favorite?

e.l.f. Matte Lip Colors are available on eyeslipsface.com and at most Target stores.
